Too late. It is in pre-production. But the person who is directing it is Peter Jackson, the person who directed the Lord of the Rings Trilogy.

Quite possibly a stupid question, but...That's a video game, right? And I guess it has books with it?

why would you read a book about a video game?

well, you see Oblivion, in today's society, there is perhaps great a chance that you would be separated from your video game system. Whether it be between school hours, or if your system broke down, or if the power went out, to just being dragged along on a vacation you don't want to be in: the odds are that you're not going to be playing your Halo all the time.

For those how dream, sleep and eat Halo. A book might relax them. Not only that, but they allow a continuity in the storyline, so you know what has happened between the first video game and the second one. They even allow a larger universe to come together. And well, it makes it easier for the plot developers to make a game, introduce new characters, and new worlds. And it's a nice way for a writer to make a quick buck.

But ultimately, most of the time, those books remain on the shelf of the play until the time comes. Or they may not even read it. It's not a new phenomenon though, they've had books for Resident Evil. A friend of mine once read it.

I read the original Halo book a long time ago, then I loaned it to my freind and he moved away without returning it.
